Lions On Field Hats Revealed For 2018 Season

The Detroit Lions changed up their color scheme and font a year ago, and that was met with bright reviews from the fans, who liked the clean look the new jerseys created on the field. And as part of that, fans can now continue to revel in of some new on-field designs for another season. Recently,

Paul Lukas from Uni Watch was giving a closer look at the home and away on-field hats for the 2018 season for every team in the NFL, and showed off the Lions look for the new year courtesy of New Era, which was a beauty.

Here's a quick look at the image Lukas shared on Twitter of the Detroit hats, which feature the Lions recently changed color scheme, font, and the spiffy overall new look which is unique to most of the league's new rotation of hats for this coming season on the field.

A few months back, New Era also revealed their draft cap design, and the look was one unlike any that has ever been featured before. The hat included the Lions franchise tagline "One Pride" in a slick design. That was a nice touch given previous designs have simply included the team logo or different designs. Though these particular hats are pretty straightforward compared to that, some nice touches do exist here as well. The WCF initials make it on the front as a tribute to former owner William Clay Ford as seen on the team's jersey sleeves, as do the striping on the other hat featuring the Lions logo. The gray hat features the city's "DET" abbreviation, which many will like. Those are some neat looks for the new year for the team, and a design unlike many that have been seen before.

This offseason, there have been plenty of notable moves for the Lions, who signed linebacker Devon Kennard, cornerback DeShawn Shead and running back LeGarrette Blount in free agency and drafted lineman Frank Ragnow and running back Kerryon Johnson as some of their bigger moves of the roster reshaping period. Perhaps the biggest move the team has made on the whole, though, was getting Matt Patricia to sign on as head coach. That's been something which has brought new excitement and a breath of fresh air to the organization after a tough finish to 2017. Arguably, there's been no more exciting time to be a Lions fan than right now, as the team tries to transition itself into a contender with new leadership that has a clear championship pedigree. As a result, many folks will probably want to pick up gear just like this ahead of the new season to show their passion.

Patricia himself has been no stranger to wearing certain hats on the sidelines backwards, though he has appeared to prefer a darker black Lions ball-cap since taking over the team. It will be interesting to see which one of these hats him and the other Lions players are spotted in this coming season on the field, and the overall reviews it gets from the fans when things get going on the apparel purchasing ahead of a new year.
