With Taylor Swift On Its Side, Country Duo Sugarland Is Back After 8 Year Hiatus

Taylor Swift has made her return to country music with the release of a new track with duo Sugarland.

The former country queen couldn’t help but return to her roots for the band’s new single, Babe, which dropped on Thursday night.

And, as you could’ve guessed, it’s catchy as hell and oozes classic Swifty vibes.

Partnering up with Train singer Patrick Monahan, Taylor wrote the song herself before offering it up to the band after they announced their return to music after a hiatus.

The pair went their separate ways in 2012 in order to pursue solo projects and for Jennifer to give birth to her baby son, Magnus.

Break-up anthem Babe was originally meant for Taylor’s 2012 album Red, but it eventually made its way into the hands of Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush, who have recorded it for their release.

Speaking about the star to Access, Jennifer spoke about her love for the star and how their work has influenced each other.

She said: ‘The reality is, she’s such a great songwriter that what she does can transcend genre, so she can easily hop back and forth depending on how she wants to produce things.’

It’s clear that while Taylor has since fully embraced her pop princess status, she still has a lot of love for the genre that made her famous.

Taylor and Jennifer both sing together on the track, and tells the story about someone dealing with a broken heart.
